Introduction

Under Copyright Act(Reproduction, etc. in Libraries, etc.), libraries under the Libraries Act and the facilities as prescribed by Presidential Decree among those facilities which provide books, documents, records and other materials for public use may reproduce the works contained in books. Libraries may reproduce or interactively transmit their books to allow users to peruse them in such libraries by using computers. Libraries may reproduce or interactively transmit their books to allow users at other libraries etc. to peruse them by computers. A library who intends to exploit a work shall pay remuneration to the owner of author’s property rights according to the criteria determined and announced by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism(hereafter "MCST"). Activities

KOLAA has been authorized to collect remuneration fees by MCST under Korea Copyright Act. KOLAA collects and distributes remuneration fees.
