Introduction

Under Copyright Act(Use for the Purpose of School Education, etc.), the educational institutions established by special laws, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, or the Higher Education Act, may reproduce, perform publicly, broadcast or conduct interactive transmission a part of the published works to the extent deemed necessary for the purpose of class teaching. If inevitable, using whole works shall be permissible. A university or a higher level school or educational institution who intends to exploit a work shall pay remuneration to the owner of author¡¯s property rights according to the criteria determined and announced by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.(Copyright Act, Article 25.2, 25.4, 25.5, and Enforcement Ordinance 3)

Activities

KOLAA has been authorized to collect remuneration fees by the MCST under Korea Copyright Act. KOLAA collects and distributes the remuneration fees.
